Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive evaluations of clients' mood disorder symptoms, assessing intensity, frequency, and duration to ensure a thorough understanding of their conditions.
• Collaborate with clients to develop tailored treatment plans that align with their unique goals and personal preferences, utilizing a client-centered approach.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), to facilitate progress toward recovery.
• Provide educational support and guidance to clients and their families on mood disorders, treatment options, and effective self-care practices for sustained mental wellness.
• Monitor and track client progress regularly, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to address emerging needs and challenges.
• Work in concert with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to provide integrated and holistic care for clients.
• Stay informed about the latest research and advances in mood disorder treatment to continuously refine clinical strategies.
• Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring compliance and integrity within therapeutic practices.
• Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development to enhance skill sets and ensure the best practices are utilized.
• Advocate for clients' mental health needs, working toward reducing the stigma surrounding mental health issues and enhancing accessibility to resources.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an LMFT with Active Health Medical Center, you'll have the opportunity to work with a diverse client population, including individuals coping with significant mood disorders. You will provide services to various groups, including those affected by homelessness, domestic violence, and refugees seeking mental health care. Your role will be crucial in fostering a safe and understanding environment for clients to navigate their mental health journeys.

Qualifications

• A current and valid state license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) is required.
• Completion of a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy is essential.
• Demonstrated exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
• A compassionate, empathetic, and nonjudgmental approach to client care is essential to success in this role.
• Strong organizational and time management skills to ensure effective handling of workloads and administrative responsibilities.

Preferred Experience

While not required, experience in addiction counseling or working within diverse communities can enhance your candidacy. Familiarity with various therapeutic techniques and best practices related to family dynamics will also be advantageous for this role.
