Job description

Position Summary:

The Assistant Vice President (AVP) of Credit Union Service Organization (CUSO) Operations provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Title Agency CUSO, ancillary products, financial reporting, vendor management, budgeting, and process improvement. The role leads to relationship-based sales initiatives, community engagement, and high-performing producer teams while serving as a community ambassador to strengthen partnerships and expand Achieva’s presence and membership growth. This leader ensures fiscal accountability, operational effectiveness and strong vendor governance. This position has no responsibility for or access to customer information systems, IT infrastructure or electronic data processing functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership amp; Community Development
  • Execute strategic market growth plans aligned with Achieva’s organizational mission and long-term objectives.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing management and leadership teams, establishing clear goas and accountability frameworks.
  • Build and maintain relationships with realtors, builders, employers, civic leaders and community organizations to drive membership and production growth.
  • Translate long-term organization vision into actionable plans and processes.
  • Educate and mentor branch employees and loan officers on relationship sales strategies and community engagement best practices.
CUSO amp; Ancillary Product Management
  • Direct the performance, compliance, and strategic positioning of ancillary product lines associated with Achieva and its affiliated entities.
  • Identify opportunities for enhancement through procedural updates, service modifications and the introduction of new initiatives or developments.
  • Ensure compliance and licensing with regulatory requirements within assigned function area.
  • Maintain awareness of current trends, legislative developments, and emerging issues within areas of expertise.
  • Complete annual compliance and information security training to understand employees’ role in maintaining effective compliance and security programs.
  • Lead the day-to-day administration and operational functions of the title agency.
Financial Management
  • Generate comprehensive monthly reports detailing financial metrics and business activities.
  • Manage budgeting activities and partner with accounting to enhance processes, including annual budget preparation, variance analysis, and ongoing oversight.
  • Develop and implement dual-control financial procedures to strengthen internal controls and operational integrity.
Vendor Management
  • Oversee vendor relationships and contracts, ensuring service level accountability, regulatory compliance, and cost-effectiveness across all third-party partnerships.
  • Manage the CUSO vendor procurement and Request for Proposal (RFP) process to drive pricing/income improvements and operation efficiency.
  • Resolve vendor performance issues and escalations to minimize operational disruptions.
  • Collaborate with Credit Union to establish CUSO vendor management policies and procedures, to ensure contracts are properly maintained and critical renewal, review, and termination dates are tracked.
Process Improvement
  • Analyze CUSO workflows, procedures and business practices to identify opportunities for increased productivity cost saving, income and risk reduction.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to redesign workflows, eliminate inefficiencies and improve member and client experience.
  • Monitor key performance metrics and recommend process enhancements based on data analysis and operation trends.
  • Develop and document standardized operational procedures to promote consistency and regulatory compliance.
Professional Growth amp; Industry Awareness
  • Engage in educational programs and industry events to continuously enhance professional knowledge and remain up to date with sector advancements.
  • Monitor changes in the business environment, market trends and customer needs.
  • Generate creative and innovative ideas and solutions to address workplace challenges.
  • Apply sound judgement, reasoning, practical analysis, and decision making using relevant input and data-informed conclusions.
Organizational Engagement
  • Represent the credit union with professionalism and courtesy in all interactions.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards in all interactions and responsibilities.
  • Lead initiatives that position the credit union as a top employer through leadership, integrity, and service excellence.
  • Perform other essential functions as needed or assigned.
  • Travel will be required with includes regular travel by automobile and periodic overnight stays.
  • Be available to work flexible hours, frequently including work outside normal business hours.
Requirements:
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Substantial experience in leadership roles within the CUSO/Credit Union industry, typically ranging from 10-15 years.
  • Experience with Credit Union Service Organizations.
Certifications
  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and pass a background check.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills to interact effectively with members, staff, vendors, government regulators, and executive leadership.

  • Demonstrated track record in sales team leadership, employee development, and community relationship building.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience in budgeting, financial reporting, vendor management and ancillary product oversight.
  • Visual and auditory acuity for computer and application usage and learning and data interpretation.

This role operates in a flexible environment and may include hybrid work, in-field visits, and time in an office setting at Corporate Headquarters and/or Achieva Branch. The employee must be able to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and communicate effectively via phone, video, and electronic messaging. This position may require extended periods of sitting or standing and occasional light lifting up to 25 pounds.
