Job description
Credit Manager (Commercial Real Estate Lending) – Bilingual Chinese
A financial institution in Manhattan is seeking a Credit Manager to oversee credit analysis and approvals for commercial real estate (CRE) lending. This role will supervise credit staff, review loan proposals, and ensure compliance with bank credit policies and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review and approve CRE loan applications and annual credit reviews in accordance with delegated lending authority.
- Evaluate credit proposals, financial analysis, and risk assessments for completeness and policy compliance.
- Review real estate appraisals, environmental reports, and collateral documentation during the loan approval process.
- Oversee loan documentation review and closing process to ensure compliance with approved credit terms.
- Monitor classified loans and OREO portfolio and report to loan committees and senior management.
- Supervise credit department staff and manage departmental workflow.
- Coordinate with external loan reviewers and auditors and assist with internal reporting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- 10+ years of commercial banking credit experience, with strong exposure to commercial real estate lending (CRE).
- Experience reviewing and approving commercial loan credit proposals.
- Mandarin or Cantonese language skills preferred.
