Town of Smithfield Senior Center / Recreation Department
Fitness & Activity Instructors (Subcontractor Positions)


The Town of Smithfield's Senior Center and Recreation Department is seeking qualified fitness instructors to join our team and help expand our programming options for our town residents.


We are compiling an instructor availability list for the following areas:

• Yogalates
• Yoga
• Chair Yoga
• Zumba Gold & Zumba
• Gentle Pilates / Pilates
• Essentrics
• Balance
• Chorus
• Line Dancing
• Move & Groove
• Pottery (with kiln access)

• Arts & Crafts (variety)

• Mommy & me 

Any other Class ideas


(All instructors must be certified in their specialty area; CPR certification preferred.)


About the Opportunity:

We are looking for experienced, engaging instructors who enjoy working with a diverse population. Instructors should be skilled at adapting classes for varying levels of ability and experience. Classes are typically one hour long and meet 1–3 times per week, Monday through Friday, between 8:00 am and 4:00 pm.

For the Recreation Department - There is flexibility for classes (we are open 7 days a week)


This is a subcontractor position, paid at a flat rate per class, based on program type, instructor certifications, and experience.


Qualifications:
• Certification in the specific field you are teaching
• CPR preferred
• Experience working with older adults strongly preferred
• Ability to adapt class content to multiple ability levels
• Professional, dependable, and comfortable working independently
