Position Title: Zoo Camp Counselor Job Code:

Department: Conservation Education

Job Grade:

Reports To: Zoo Camp Supervisor FLSA Status: nonexempt

Purpose:

Zoo Camp Counselors are responsible for working cooperatively with other Zoo Camp staff to create a fun and engaging zoo camp experience for our campers.

Essential Job Functions:

Responsibilities include interacting with campers ages 4-14 yrs., preparing daily activities, delivering daily lessons, facilitating games, activities, songs, and crafts, providing information about our animals, assisting with the presentation of a variety of education ambassador animals and supervising campers both in the classroom and throughout the Zoo. Performs other duties as assigned and directed.

Other Functions:

  1. Performs other related duties as required.

Performance Factors:

  • Must have earned, or currently be pursuing, a college degree in Education or a closely related field.
  • Must have or be able to obtain both the PA Child Abuse History and FBI Criminal Background Check clearances.
  • Must be available to work June 8-August 14, 2026.
