Overview 
H. L’s Menagerie, LLC is currently seeking knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passion for birds, reptiles and exotic animals. This position is for Full Time Position as Zoo Curator.
Primary responsibility will be to care for and maintain animals, exhibits, grounds, and facilities; supervises staffs as assigned. To perform daily keeper activities to include feeding animals, behavioral observance, record keeping, cleaning enclosures, etc. 
You will be working in proximity with birds, exotic animals, reptiles, kangaroos, primates, etc. Looking for long term committed individual who is seeking a career in caring animals.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the daily care, health, and welfare of all animals, ensuring proper nutrition, enrichment, and habitat conditions 
  •  Develop and implement species-specific husbandry and enrichment programs, and monitor animal behavior to support overall well-being 
  •  Coordinate closely with veterinary staff on preventative care, medical treatments, and emergency situations 
  •  Ensure full compliance with all applicable regulations, including those set by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) under the Animal Welfare Act 
  •  Prepare for and manage USDA inspections, audits, and maintain accurate, up-to-date, audit-ready documentation 
  •  Ensure adherence to industry standards, including Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA) guidelines where applicable 
  •  Manage the animal collection, including planning acquisitions, transfers, and breeding programs to support conservation and genetic diversity 
  •  Maintain accurate records of animal inventory, medical history, diet, breeding, and transfers 
  •  Supervise, train, and evaluate animal care staff, ensuring compliance with safety, operational procedures, and performance standards 
  •  Develop staff schedules and support efficient daily operations while fostering a professional and collaborative work environment 
  •  Collaborate with internal teams on exhibit design, construction, and maintenance to ensure habitats meet animal welfare, safety, and species-specific needs 
  •  Support conservation initiatives, research programs, and partnerships, and contribute to educational programs and public engagement efforts 
  •  Manage administrative functions, including preparing reports, maintaining records, coordinating departmental workflows, and ensuring effective communication across teams 
  •  Oversee budgets related to animal care, track expenses, and manage procurement of feed, equipment, and supplies 
  •  Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure all documentation is organized and compliant
