Job description

Position Overview

We are seeking a hands-on and operationally driven Kitchen Manager to lead back-of-house operations within a fast-paced, family-oriented restaurant environment. This role is responsible for overseeing kitchen execution, inventory management, food quality, team leadership, and operational consistency while also supporting front-of-house operations and overall guest experience when needed.

The ideal candidate is an organized and proactive leader who thrives in high-volume environments, can lead by example during busy shifts, and understands the importance of balancing food quality, labor, and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

Kitchen Operations

  • Oversee daily back-of-house operations and kitchen execution
  • Ensure food quality, consistency, sanitation, and safety standards are maintained
  • Manage inventory levels, truck ordering, and product organization
  • Monitor food costs, waste, prep levels, and kitchen efficiency
  • Ensure proper opening, closing, and cleaning procedures are followed
  • Maintain organized and inspection-ready kitchen areas at all times

Leadership & Team Development

  • Supervise, coach, and support kitchen team members during shifts
  • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training BOH employees
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and a positive workplace culture
  • Lead by example during peak service periods and high-volume shifts

Operational Support

  • Support full restaurant operations including guest service and front-of-house leadership as needed
  • Assist with managing shift execution across multiple operational areas
  • Help maintain a smooth and efficient guest experience throughout the restaurant

Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

  • Support labor management and scheduling efficiency
  • Monitor inventory usage and cost controls
  • Assist with operational reporting and maintaining company standards

Qualifications

  • Previous kitchen leadership or restaurant management experience preferred
  • Strong understanding of inventory management, food cost control, and kitchen systems
  • Ability to lead in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Hands-on leadership style with a team-oriented mindset
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed

Compensation & Benefits

  • Hourly Pay: $16.00–$17.00/hour
  • Annual Bonus Potential: Up to $5,000+
  • Total Estimated Annual Compensation: Approximately $50,000–$60,000
