Position Information Position Title Zero Waste Coordinator Requisition Number H01321P Position Category Hourly/Work Study Campus Location Weber State University - Ogden, UT Hours per week 20 Months per year 12 Alternate work schedule Starting as soon as possible with duration as long as mutually desired and enrolled at WSU as a student. Pay Grade Salary Hourly Pay Rate $13.50 FLSA Job Summary/Basic Function The Zero Waste Coordinator will serve as the Chair of WSU's Zero Waste Committee and will be responsible for taking the lead implementing the zero waste and green purchasing goals and objectives in WSU's Sustainability Plan. Specifically, this position is responsible for the following: a.

Leading the implementation of the zero waste and green purchasing goals and objectives in WSU's Sustainability Plan. b. Serving as WSU's Zero Waste Committee Chair which requires organizing meetings, setting agendas, and leading the work of this committee.

c. Leading WSU's Zero Waste Athletics Program (Wildcats go Zero Waste) which includes recruiting volunteers and working with Athletics staff to provide recycling education at the games. d.

Serving as the Zero Waste Vice President within the Environmental Ambassadors Club. Managing student zero waste events (e.g. Green move in/out, free swap, fix-it workshops, or waste-related speakers/film screenings, book clubs, etc.).

e. Assisting the EA president as needed with the planning and execution of all other Environmental Ambassador Club events. f.

Conducting monthly recycling contamination check-ins and maintain up-to-date records for annual reporting purposes. g. Conducting zero waste education and outreach.

h. Assisting the Sustainability Manager with collecting and analyzing all waste and green purchasing-related data for WSU's annual sustainability report and for STARS. Required Qualifications - Must be a current WSU student with a minimum GPA of 2.5.

Preferred Qualifications - Experience working with Microsoft Excel, Word, and the Adobe Suite - Excellent communication skills, including but not limited to: technical writing, computer skills, public speaking, and oral presentation - Excellent interpersonal skills - Self-motivated and organized - A creative and collaborative problem solver Background Check?
