Role: Sr Systems Engineer

Location: West Houston, TX (Onsite) 

Job type: Full Time

Seeking a Sr Systems Engineer to lead complex infrastructure, cloud, security, and migration projects for a growing Managed Services organization. Role combines hands-on engineering, technical consulting, project leadership, and client engagement across Microsoft cloud, virtualization, networking, security, and compliance initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Azure, Microsoft 365, SharePoint, Intune, and Active Directory migration projects
  • Design and implement network, server, virtualization, and cloud solutions
  • Manage Hyper-V environments including live migrations, host upgrades, VM storage, and disaster recovery
  • Configure firewalls, VPNs, security controls, MFA, identity management, and endpoint protection
  • Support compliance initiatives including HIPAA, security audits, access governance, Purview, and DLP
  • Create deployment plans, network diagrams, IP schemes, and technical documentation
  • Perform project scoping, estimation, pre-sales consulting, and client presentations
  • Design, test, and validate backup and disaster recovery solutions
  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to deliver projects on time and within budget

Requirements

  • 8+ years of Systems Engineering exp
  • MSP/IT Consulting exp required
  • Strong Azure, Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra ID, and Active Directory expertise
  • Advanced Hyper-V and server administration exp
  • Exp with Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, VPNs, and networking
  • Strong security knowledge including MFA, endpoint security, DLP, Purview, and compliance frameworks
  • Exp with Datto, Acronis, Replibit, or similar BDR platforms
  • Excellent client-facing communication, documentation, and consulting skills
Local travel required. Strong Microsoft certifications and regulated industry exp are highly preferred.
