Job description

D'Youville University's School of Nursing is seeking qualified candidates to join a pool of adjunct instructors for potential teaching opportunities in Nursing. Adjuncts will be responsible for implementing educational programs through classroom teaching, lab instruction, and clinical supervision. Opportunities are available in various instructional settings, including lectures, labs, online, and hybrid formats. Clinical supervision will involve guiding students in delivering quality nursing care across diverse healthcare environments.

Responsibilities: 

  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment for students from diverse backgrounds.
  • Focused on student success and engagement.
  • Possess academic and experiential expertise as a Nurse Practitioner, emphasizing innovative pedagogy.
  • Student-centric and service-minded, with the ability to collaborate effectively in teams.
  • Capable of providing effective classroom and clinical instruction to a diverse student population.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and evaluation of academic programs within the School of Nursing.
  • Active participation in faculty meetings and school governance.
  • Physically able to perform teaching duties in classroom and laboratory settings.
  • Proficient in delivering instruction in classroom, hybrid, or distance learning formats.
  • Maintain professional competence and certification (if applicable) in specialty areas.
  • Hold on-campus office hours for students as outlined by the nursing department.
  • Engage in scholarly activities that contribute to nursing and academic disciplines.
  • Possess clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish positive interpersonal and collaborative relationships with students, faculty, administrators, and the broader college community.
  • Willingness to engage in strategic planning initiatives to enhance nursing programs and resources.
  • Participate in professional development activities to stay current in nursing practice.

Requirements: 

  • Master's degree as a Registered Professional Nurse; experience in online education and/or research is preferred.
  • Unencumbered New York State RN license or eligibility for licensure is required.
  • Academic teaching experience is preferred.
  • A minimum of five years' experience as a registered nurse or nurse educator is preferred.
  • Doctoral degree (DNS, DNP, EdD, or PhD) is preferred.
