Job description

Summary: 

D'Youville's Patricia H. Garman School of Nursing is seeking an outstanding candidate to join in a faculty position to provide leadership in the areas of teaching, service and scholarly activity. 

5 positions are available. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs in a collaborative governance environment.
  • Utilize a variety of active teaching strategies, including lectures, lab/clinical instruction, and online/hybrid formats to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Engage in scholarship according to the Boyer model, focusing on teaching, discovery, application, and engagement.
  • Participate in service activities that support the School of Nursing, the profession, and the community.
  • Hold office hours, mentor students, and serve on departmental and college committees.
  • Contribute to accreditation activities and strategic planning initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in nursing from an accredited program.
  • Unencumbered RN license to practice in New York or eligibility for licensure in New York.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • 3-5 years of academic experience in nursing with a record of teaching, service, and research.
  • Demonstrated engagement in scholarly activities and professional development.
  • Commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment and focusing on student success.

If applying for graduate NP programs, NYS licensure and national certification in nurse practitioner specialty appropriate for program taught is required

Preferred: 

  • Experience in higher education and innovative pedagogy.
  • Earned doctorate in nursing or a closely related field
  • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and engage effectively with a diverse student population.
  • Capacity for light to moderate lifting and the ability to maintain professional competence in specialty areas.

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 Annually

The salary range reflects our good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting, the role and associated responsibilities, and the experience, education, and training of the selected candidate. Faculty rank and salary will be commensurate with education and qualifications.
