Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience programming in Java or C .
  • 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products, and 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
  • 8 years of experience with data structures and algorithms.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical leadership role leading project teams and setting technical direction.
  • 3 years of experience working in a complex, matrixed organization involving cross-functional, or cross-business projects.
  • Experience with user understanding and analysis of user metrics and trends.
  • Familiarity with PLX/SQL/database querying technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Optimize the delivery of shopping ads to YouTube viewers by incorporating new product information, refining content and presentation, and driving impact for users and customers in a full-stack manner.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy of YouTube Shopping Ads, helping to build one of YouTube Ads' growing businesses.
  • Develop expertise on the technical stack to deliver projects successfully.
  • Work cross-functionally with product managers (PMs), user experience (UX) teams, and other software engineers (SWEs) to deliver on projects pertaining to YouTube Shopping Ads.
  • Produce high-quality output and grow the business in conjunction with tech leads (TLs) and tech lead managers (TLMs) using a data-driven approach.
