Position Overview:
The Digital Editing Intern is responsible for ideating, producing, and driving content across Washington Wizards social media platforms. This position will drive content creation while working directly with the Wizards team to cover player activations and activities, uncovering new, engaging ways to interact with and grow our audience. This role reports to the Branded Content Producer within the Wizards Digital department.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide coverage and footage logging for games, practices, Wizards team and player events, and media availabilities.
  • Conceptualize, plan, and edit engaging content including vertical video for the Wizards. Plus, real-time reactionary content for games and team events.
  • Be available to assist with events on short notice, including nights and weekends as needed.
  • Work diligently with fast-paced video production
  • Collaborate with Digital and Productions teams on implementing new social-first content ideas and opportunities.
  • Monitor social media news and trends to identify new content opportunities relevant to sports and pop culture.
  • Optimize new and existing content with the goal of driving performance on social platforms.
  • Support game day/night coverage of home and road games in addition to team events, including editing and logging video content.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • 1+ year(s) of experience in social media content creation, with an emphasis on quick-turn video production.
  • Deep understanding of TikTok/Reels style editing and curation.
  • Experienced content editing and creation skills using Adobe Premiere.
  • Ability to edit video content quickly and efficiently on tight deadlines.
  • Strong social media proficiency - always online across TikTok, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Snapchat.
  • Deep awareness and understanding of social media trends, memes, pop culture, and viral content.
  • Outstanding interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills & organization skills.
  • Ability to work creatively and efficiently in a fast paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledgeable about NBA players and teams.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Knowledge of animation and motion graphics is a plus.
  • Must provide a link to video work samples.
Pay Rate: $18.40 USD/hour
