About Peak Financial Planning

Peak Financial Planning is a fee-only fiduciary financial planning firm specializing in helping pre-retirees and retirees make smarter decisions about retirement income, taxes, Social Security, investments, and long-term spending.

YouTube is the media engine behind Peak Financial Planning. Led by founder and CEO Eric Amzalag, CFP®, RICP®, our educational content reaches hundreds of thousands of viewers and generates millions of dollars of investment into the company each month.

Our mission is to become the most trusted retirement-planning media brand in the country.

We produce high-performance, long-form educational content designed to help people make better retirement decisions, deepen trust in the Peak brand, and generate measurable business impact throughout the firm.

Our content is not vanity media. It is the primary way prospective clients discover Peak, learn how we think, and decide whether our planning process is right for them.

We operate through structured workflows, disciplined production systems, clear performance metrics, and an aggressive commitment to innovation—especially through AI-native research, production, and optimization systems.

We are building a repeatable content machine that compounds: stronger ideas, better packaging, higher-quality videos, faster iteration, more qualified prospects, and deeper brand equity over time.

If you’re joining Peak Financial Planning, you’re not here to simply manage a YouTube channel. You’re here to help build the leading retirement-planning media brand in the country.

Role

The YouTube Manager exists to turn Peak Financial Planning’s business priorities, audience insights, and financial-planning expertise into long-form videos that perform at their ceiling and generate measurable business outcomes.

This is a true channel-owner seat for the Eric at Peak Financial Planning YouTube channel. You will have meaningful input upstream on ideas, angles, series concepts, livestreams, clip channel and formats, informed by performance data and a deep understanding of what retirement-focused viewers respond to.

You will help shape what gets made and how it gets recorded so that YouTube performance is built in from the start—not bolted on at the end.

This is not a channel babysitter or packaging-only position. You will own titles, thumbnails, metadata, upload operations, livestream operations, analytics, and back-catalogue optimization. You will be accountable for subscriber growth, booked consultations, and YouTube’s contribution to Peak’s client-acquisition engine.

Views and click-through rate are inputs, not the ultimate goal. The goal is to attract the right viewers, build trust at scale, and convert attention into qualified prospective clients.

The role is AI-forward by default. Analytics, reporting, A/B-test tracking, competitive research, and optimization workflows should increasingly run through AI agents and automation—not manual spreadsheets and gut instinct.

This role reports directly to the Chief Growth Officer, Chris, and works closely with Eric, the video editor, the thumbnail designer, to shape brand identity, content production, and distribution.

Responsibilities
  • Own the creative direction of YouTube packaging, including titles and thumbnails, partnering with Peak’s editor and designers to translate each content brief into the final published package.
  • Run the complete upload operation from beginning to end, including scheduling, descriptions, tags, chapters, end screens, cards, links, disclosures, and final quality-control review.
  • Run the complete operations of our clips channels
  • Run the complete operations of our livestreams
  • Ensure no video goes live without passing Peak’s complete editorial, technical, brand, and compliance checklist.
  • Build and operate a continuous A/B-testing framework for thumbnails and titles across new and catalogue videos, keeping packaging decisions defensible against channel benchmarks and documented test results.
  • Own YouTube analytics and build AI-agent-powered workflows for data compilation, anomaly detection, competitive research, reporting, and performance diagnosis.
  • Translate performance insights into specific decisions affecting video ideas, hooks, titles, thumbnails, scripting, production, and distribution.
  • Systematically audit and re-optimize Peak’s back catalogue, including thumbnails, titles, descriptions, calls to action, links, and metadata, and create a documented prioritization framework.
  • Track the compounding impression, view, subscriber, consultation, and revenue impact generated by back-catalogue optimization.
  • Monitor the retirement, investing, tax-planning, and personal-finance content landscape to identify rising viewer demand, competitive gaps, and differentiated opportunities for Peak.
  • Evaluate and roll out new YouTube features using a clear test-and-measure process.
  • Maintain a reliable connection between channel performance and downstream business outcomes, including website traffic, consultation-funnel activity, qualified booked calls, and new-client acquisition.
  • Work within Peak’s compliance requirements as an SEC-registered investment adviser, ensuring content, descriptions, claims, disclosures, and publishing workflows meet the firm’s standards.
Requirements
  • 3+ years managing, growing, or optimizing a high-volume YouTube channel.
  • Deep command of YouTube’s packaging ecosystem, including thumbnails, titles, click-through-rate mechanics, retention patterns, traffic sources, recommendation behavior, and catalogue optimization.
  • Strong analytical fundamentals and demonstrated experience drawing practical creative decisions from performance data.
  • Demonstrated experience running and documenting A/B tests for YouTube content.
  • Familiarity with AI tools for analytics, reporting, research, or workflow automation—or a clear drive to build with them.
  • Proficiency with project-management tools and Google Workspace, plus strong written communication for titles, descriptions, creative briefs, and internal reports.
  • Strong quality-control instincts and the ability to manage detailed publishing workflows without missed steps or preventable errors.
  • Ability to distinguish between content that generates broad attention and content that attracts qualified prospective clients.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, fully remote environment with clear ownership and measurable accountability.
  • Experience with financial, retirement, investing, or educational media is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with the advertising and recordkeeping considerations affecting financial-services content is a plus.
Results
  • Click-through-rate and impression benchmarks improve consistently across new uploads.
  • New videos attract qualified retirement-planning viewers—not merely broad, low-intent traffic.
  • The back catalogue generates measurable new impression, view, subscriber, consultation, and revenue volume through systematic re-optimization.
  • A/B testing is continuous, documented, and actively informs packaging decisions.
  • Analytics reporting is automated, timely, decision-ready, and connected to downstream business performance.
  • Zero uploads go live without passing the complete editorial, technical, brand, and compliance checklist.
  • Subscriber growth trends upward quarter over quarter.
  • YouTube remains a measurable and growing driver of qualified website traffic, consultation calls, new clients, and revenue for Peak Financial Planning.
  • The channel develops a clearer and more defensible competitive position as a leading source of retirement-planning education.
Schedule
  • Standard business hours, with flexibility to support recording, production, and upload timing.
  • Occasional coordination outside normal hours may be required for time-sensitive publishing, live broadcasts, or production needs.
Location
  • Full-time, remote within the United States.
  • Team members must maintain reliable availability during agreed-upon working hours and be able to collaborate effectively with a distributed team.
Compensation
  • $80,000–$100,000 base salary.
  • The salary range may include several experience levels applicable to the position. Final compensation will be based on relevant prior experience, demonstrated channel results, skills, and expertise.
  • This range reflects base salary only and does not include benefits or any additional compensation that may apply.
Benefits
  • 3% safe harbor to 401k
  • 3 health insurance plan options - employer pays 50% of lowest cost plan premium for employee only (dependents CAN be covered but Peak does not cover the cost of dependents)
  • Unlimited PTO
