The Word Church

Warrensville Heights, OH • On-site

Full-time

Re-posted 26 days ago

Job description

Location: The Word Church, Warrensville Campus

Reports to: Digital Director

Status: Full-time

OUR MISSION

At The Word Church, our mission is simple: we are a Jesus-centered ministry committed to strengthening our members, winning the lost, and helping those in need. Every campus exists to extend the reach of this mission spiritually, relationally, and practically.

ROLE OVERVIEW

The Content Creator supports The Word Church’s digital presence by producing compelling, mission-aligned content for social media platforms and digital channels. This role works directly under the Digital Director to bring strategy to life through engaging visuals, video, and written content that reflects the voice, heart, and culture of The Word Church.

This is a hands-on creative role for someone who is equally comfortable behind a camera, in a design tool, and behind a caption. The Content Creator will play a key role in how the church is experienced online — capturing moments, building community, and amplifying the ministry’s reach.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation & Production

  • Create high-quality photo, video, graphic, and written content for social media platforms including Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, and TikTok
  • Capture content during weekend services, events, and ministry activations — including photo, short-form video, and behind-the-scenes moments
  • Edit and produce content that is on-brand, visually compelling, and optimized for each platform
  • Develop Reels, Stories, and short-form video content that drives engagement and reflects current platform trends
  • Support the creation of digital graphics, email headers, and web assets as needed

Social Media Management

  • Manage day-to-day posting and scheduling across church social media accounts
  • Translate the Digital Director’s content strategy into a structured, consistent posting calendar
  • Write platform-native captions that reflect the church’s voice — warm, clear, faith-rooted, and culturally relevant
  • Monitor comments, messages, and community engagement across platforms and respond or escalate as appropriate
  • Stay current on platform updates, algorithm shifts, and content trends to keep strategy informed and execution sharp

Strategy Execution & Collaboration

  • Partner closely with the Digital Director to execute communication and content plans for church-wide initiatives, sermon series, and events
  • Collaborate with the Creative, Worship, and Production teams to ensure content captures and reflects ministry experiences accurately
  • Contribute ideas for content themes, campaigns, and storytelling approaches during planning conversations
  • Track performance metrics (reach, engagement, follower growth) and share insights to support strategic decisions

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • Alignment with The Word Church’s mission, values, and leadership culture
  • Demonstrates the fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22–23) in posture and communication
  • Creative self-starter who takes initiative and follows through with excellence
  • Collaborative spirit with a servant’s heart
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in fast-paced, live ministry environments

QUALIFICATIONS

Essential

  • Experience creating content for social media platforms in a professional, ministry, or brand context
  • Proficiency in photo and video editing tools (Adobe Premiere, CapCut, Lightroom, or equivalent)
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, content formats, and best practices
  • Ability to write clear, engaging, on-brand copy for social captions and digital content
  • Comfortable working on-site during weekend services and key church events

Preferred

  • Experience in a church, nonprofit, or faith-based organization
  • Background in digital marketing, communications, or media production
  • Familiarity with social scheduling tools (Later, Sprout Social, or equivalent)
  • Basic photography skills and comfort operating a camera in a live environment
  • Experience with Planning Center or similar church management platforms
