Job description

Position Overview:

The Intern for Youth Basketball Camps and Clinics will assist the Manager of Camps and Clinics in coordinating, preparing, and managing youth basketball camps and clinics. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in sports management, event logistics, and youth engagement. The intern will assist with setup, breakdown, and logistical coordination, ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for participants.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the setup and breakdown of camp and clinic equipment, and supplies
  • Support staff and coaches with daily operations and logistics
  • Help prepare materials and equipment needed for camps and clinics
  • Assist in grassroots outreach efforts to promote developmental programs and instructional events within the community
  • Identify and recommend potential locations for future events
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of participants during activities
  • Support communication efforts with participants, parents, and staff
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the facility and equipment
  • Assist with registration and check-in processes
  • Provide a positive and encouraging environment for youth participants
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Current undergraduate or graduate student
  • Ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds safely
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work outdoors and in various weather conditions
  • Passion for youth sports and community engagement
  • Reliable, responsible, and able to carry out assigned tasks
  • Prior experience in sports, recreation, or youth programs is a plus but not required
  • Must be at least 18 years old
Pay Rate: $18.40 USD/hour
