Position Overview:
The Program Monitor provides support and assistance to the Team Lead and Associate Director. As a sponsoring organization, FLIPANY provides oversight to providers participating in the federal food program in the areas of program accountability and nutrition integrity. He or she works with a caseload of approximately 25 meal sites to ensure they are accounting for the meals provided appropriately. The responsibilities include communicating with sites, tracking required paperwork, training staff, monitoring sites, visiting sites, and ensuring paperwork requirements. The position is central to maintaining quality execution of program activities aligned with our mission of providing healthy meals (snacks, suppers, lunches and breakfast) for children in low-income areas.
The Program Monitor also engages directly with youth through outreach events and nutrition education sessions while overseeing program monitoring and compliance. FLIPANY operates through an agency-to-agency model, meaning this position works closely with partner agencies throughout the tri-County area. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and passionate individual prepared to monitor document integrity as well as mentor and guide youth through wellness experiences that promote healthy lifestyle habits.
Qualifications:
  • A High school diploma with some post-secondary coursework in social work, nutrition or youth services and/or work experience in a related field (Associate 's degree preferred)
  • Administrative and customer service experience
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle for travel to program sites
  • Must be detail-oriented

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate and conduct an average of 3-5 site reviews per week to meal sites where meals are served to ensure compliance, quality, and proper service.
  • Visit sites regularly to collect documentation and provide onsite technical assistance.
  • Review and evaluate site paperwork, providing direct feedback and technical assistance to staff to ensure proper procedures are followed.
  • Maintain accurate program records, files, and monitoring documentation
  • Prepare program spreadsheets and reports as directed by the Team Lead and Associate Director
  • Identify compliance risks and work proactively to correct issues
  • Participate in weekly progress meetings
  • Meet monthly department goals
  • Conduct pre-operational and recruitment visits
  • Support potential sites through enrollment stages
  • Assist with expansion of digital point-of-service implementation across sites
  • Work logically and collaboratively with site staff across diverse locations while maintaining clear communication with the FLIPANY team and supervisors.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Have reliable transportation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Teams to support program delivery, communication, and documentation.
  • Strong organizational, administrative, and time management skills, with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a customer service mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships and collaborate effectively with youth, site staff, and partner agencies.
  • Able to balance engaging instruction with accurate monitoring and compliance responsibilities to ensure program integrity.
  • Able to be available for occasional evenings and weekends for deadlines, community outreach, or fundraising events.
