Youth Development Professionals (YDP) to join our afterschool program team for the 2026-2027 school year!
In this role, you aren't just supervising-you are a mentor, a leader, and a positive role model helping local youth realize their full potential in a safe, inclusive, and fun environment.
What You'll Do- Youth Engagement: Build positive relationships with youth through active mentorship, sports, recess, and recreational games.
- Social & Emotional Support: Model positive communication, empathy, and conflict resolution to help youth develop social-emotional intelligence.
- Program Leadership: Facilitate engaging lessons, assist with activity tracking, and maintain organized, welcoming program spaces.
- Professional Growth: Participate in regular paid staff meetings and specialized professional development trainings to sharpen your leadership skills.
Schedule & Compensation- Must be 21 or older
- Pay Rate: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
- Position Type: Part-time, hourly (Estimated 15-22 hours/week)
- Commitment: August 6, 2026 - May 21, 2027 (School Year)
- Typical Hours: Monday-Thursday (approx. 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM) and Fridays (early dismissal days, starting around 11:30 AM).
- Locations: Independence High School (in Provo), Orem Jr. High(in Orem), Provo Clubhouse-Teens (in Provo)
What We Are Looking For- Previous experience working with youth (ages 5-12 or 13-18) in an educational, recreational, or development setting is preferred.
- A reliable team player with strong communication skills and a growth mindset.
- Ability to remain actively engaged with youth indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions (and lift 25-50 lbs as needed).
