POSITION SUMMARY (16 year olds may apply)

Sports at the Y help youth and adults develop athletics skills and proficiency, and so much more teamwork, friendships, confidence, character, and respect. The Sports Associate engages staff, volunteers, and the adults and youth served to develop, maintain, and grow a variety of mission-based sports programs that are diverse in terms of ages(pre-school to adult) and level of competition(developmental to competitive). The ideal candidate is flexible, innovative, organized, and personable, adept at both administration and programming.

SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Executes the development and operations of assigned program areas
  • Ensures upkeep of related facilities and equipment
  • Provides support for management team, annual fund raising campaign, and volunteer committees/board as assigned. Develops and maintains effective working relationships within the community.
  • Develops, produces and distributes program information necessary to promte assigned programs, in accordance with marketing plans.
  • Ensure that safety procedures are followed and that all programs are in compliance with YMCA standards, all regulations and other applicable standards.
  • Ensures high quality programs through innovative program development evaluations in ongoing training
  • Provides data and reports as required for assigned programs
