Position Summary: Youth Activities Manager

The Youth Activities Manager is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of year-round youth programming and events while overseeing the daily operations of the Youth Department. This role manages and develops a  Youth Activities team and ensures the delivery of engaging, safe, and memorable experiences for children and families while upholding the service standards of the Club.

Job Responsibilities

  • Greets members and guests in a warm, welcoming, and professional manner.
  • Plans, coordinates, and executes youth activities, special events, day camps, and seasonal camps throughout the year.
  • Oversees youth activity spaces and facilities located within both Clubhouses.
  • Maintains organization and inventory of all Youth Department supplies, equipment, and materials.
  • Provides clear, professional communication with parents and guardians regarding programming, policies, and children’s needs.
  • Assists with coverage of youth department shifts when necessary.
  • Conducts interviews for Youth Activities Counselors and assists with hiring and onboarding.
  • Trains, mentors, and evaluates Youth Activities’ team in accordance with Club service standards and policies.
  • Prepares supply orders and manages purchasing needs for youth programs and childcare operations.
  • Supports departmental cost control efforts by ensuring responsible use of supplies and equipment.
  • Maintains knowledge of all Florida state childcare and youth programming regulations and ensures departmental compliance.
  • Promotes youth programming and events to membership through appropriate communication channels.
  • Collaborates with the Events Team and other departments to support successful Club events.
  • Ensures adherence to sanitation and safety standards in accordance with state regulations and Club policies.
  • Develops and maintains Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Youth Department operations.
  • Communicates promptly with management regarding incidents, concerns, or operational matters involving staff or participants.
  • Responds to member and guest questions or concerns professionally and in a timely manner.
  • Maintains a positive work environment and contributes to strong team culture.
  • Attends and actively participates in departmental and Club training sessions and staff meetings.
  • Maintains departmental uniform and grooming standards and ensures Youth Counselors adhere to those standards.
  • Works collaboratively with team members across all departments.
  • Works a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by programming and events.
  • Follows and enforces all Club policies and procedures.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned by management in support of the Youth Department or Club operations.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated understanding of youth programming and child engagement strategies.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working with youth programming or childcare environments.
  • Experience leading and supervising groups of 20 or more children in a structured setting.
  • Prior supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification required, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
  • Knowledge of Florida childcare guidelines and safety standards preferred.
