Position Title: Yoga Teacher
Location: YogaSix Downers Grove
Reports To: Studio Manager / Lead Instructor
Position Summary
YogaSix Downers Grove is seeking passionate, energetic, and experienced Yoga Teachers to lead energizing, empowering and fun yoga classes while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for members. Yoga Teachers are responsible for delivering high-quality classes aligned with the YogaSix methodology, inspiring members, and contributing to a positive studio culture. YogaSix focuses on making yoga accessible, empowering, and enjoyable for practitioners of all levels.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Lead YogaSix class formats according to brand standards and programming.
  • Provide clear verbal instruction, demonstrations, and alignment cues.
  • Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate varying fitness and experience levels.
  • Create an inclusive, supportive, and judgment-free class environment.
  • Build relationships with members and foster a strong sense of community.
  • Arrive prepared and on time for all scheduled classes and studio events.
  • Maintain current knowledge of YogaSix programming, teaching methodology, and continuing education requirements.
  • Assist with member retention through exceptional class experiences.
  • Support studio promotions, workshops, and community events as needed.
  • Ensure studio cleanliness and safety standards are maintained.
Qualifications
  • 200-hour Yoga Teacher Certification (RYT-200) from a recognized training program.
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Ability to teach safe and effective classes to participants of varying abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and community building. 
  • One or more years of yoga or group fitness instruction experience preferred.
  • Ability to teach multiple class formats.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to demonstrate yoga postures and movement patterns.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move continuously during classes.
  • Capability to lift and move studio equipment up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to work in heated room environments when required.
