Job Title: Youth Sports Supervisor

Position Type: Part-Time / Seasonal
Location: SE Monroe County YMCA, NW Monroe County YMCA
Minimum Age Requirement: 18 years old
Salary: $14 per hour

Reports To: Sports Director

Position Summary:

The Youth Sports Supervisor is an entry-level leadership position responsible for assisting with the on-site coordination of youth sports leagues and programs. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about sports, enjoy working with children, and are looking to gain experience in supervision, leadership, and recreation management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise youth sports games and practices at assigned locations.
  • Provide guidance and support to coaches, referees, players, and parents.
  • Set up and take down equipment before and after games/practices.
  • Monitor player safety and ensure a positive and respectful environment.
  • Assist with enforcing league rules, policies, and sportsmanship standards.
  • Help resolve minor conflicts or issues that arise during activities.
  • Communicate effectively with site staff and report incidents or concerns to management.
  • Serve as a positive role model for youth participants.
  • Coach Team when assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Interest in sports, youth development, or recreation.
  • Responsible, dependable, and punctual.
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must be CPR certified within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience as a player, coach, or referee (preferred but not required).
  • Willingness to learn and follow organizational policies and procedures.

Working Conditions:

  • May work indoors or outdoors depending on the sport and season.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, and light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Must be comfortable working in a dynamic environment with children and families.
