Job description

Are you passionate about creating a safe and enjoyable aquatics environment for the Hixson community? Do you have experience in managing pool operations and lifeguarding staff?

Join our team at YMCA, where we believe in making a positive impact on people's lives every day. As the Aquatics Director, you will be responsible for developing and implementing high-quality, member-focused aquatics programs. You'll have the opportunity to recruit, train, and motivate staff, maintain pool facilities, and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct and supervise program activities to meet community needs
  • Recruit, hire, train, and schedule personnel and volunteers
  • Monitor pool operations and maintenance
  • Conduct lifeguarding and swim instruction trainings
  • Create and schedule swim classes and water fitness classes
  • Assist in marketing program information
  • Develop and monitor program budget
  • Participate in YMCA fundraising activities and special events
  • Serve as member of branch leadership team and periodically work Manager on Duty shifts

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 1-2 years of supervisory experience preferred
  • Certified in CPR, First Aid, lifeguarding, and water exercise
  • Proven ability to stimulate program growth through community relations
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Display professionalism, customer service, and YMCA values
  • Flexibility to monitor all aspects of aquatics programming (including time working an occasional evening and weekend
