Middle School Multi-Site Director

Full-Time | $24.20–$30.00 per Hour | 7:00am-8:30am & 11:00am-6:00pm Schedule Availability

We are seeking a Middle School Multi-Site Director who understands and enjoys working with this age group. The ideal candidate is a skilled youth development professional who can connect with middle school students, build trusting relationships, create meaningful experiences, and lead high-quality programs that help young people thrive.


Position Summary

The Middle School Multi-Site Director provides leadership and oversight for YMCA middle school enrichment and recreation programs across multiple school sites. This role is responsible for creating safe, inclusive, and engaging environments where students can develop academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.

The Director oversees daily operations, supervises staff, partners with schools and families, and ensures the delivery of exceptional programs that meet the unique needs and interests of middle school youth.


What You'll DoLead Outstanding Middle School Programs
  • Oversee daily operations at multiple middle school program sites.
  • Develop engaging enrichment, recreation, leadership, and youth development activities designed specifically for students in grades 6–8.
  • Foster a welcoming environment where every student feels safe, respected, and included.
  • Ensure programs align with YMCA values and quality standards.
Support Student Success
  • Provide academic support through structured homework assistance and enrichment opportunities.
  • Encourage positive study habits, personal responsibility, and goal setting.
  • Help students build confidence and resilience both in and out of the classroom.
Lead and Develop Staff
  • Supervise, schedule, train, and support program staff.
  • Facilitate regular team meetings and maintain clear communication across sites.
  • Coach staff to create positive relationships and meaningful experiences for youth.
  • Support professional growth.
Build Strong School and Family Partnerships
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with school administrators, teachers, parents, and caregivers.
  • Serve as a trusted resource and advocate for students and families.
  • Communicate effectively regarding program activities, student needs, and special events.
Create Memorable Experiences
  • Plan special events, leadership opportunities, family engagement activities, and community-building experiences.
  • Support healthy living initiatives, including snack planning and wellness-focused activities.
  • Encourage youth voice, leadership, and participation in programs and events.
Ensure Quality and Safety
  • Maintain compliance with YMCA policies, licensing requirements, and safety protocols.
  • Oversee supplies, program materials, and site organization.
  • Ensure the physical and emotional well-being of youth at all times.

Required Qualifications
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Minimum of 12 months of experience working directly with middle school-aged youth in a classroom, childcare, after-school, recreation, camp, or similar setting.
  • Minimum of 15 college units in:
    • Early Childhood Education
    • Child Development
    • Physical Education
    • Social Sciences
    • Or a related field
  • Ability to obtain DOJ and FBI fingerprint clearance, including sex offender screening.
