Yellow Dog information

What is a yellow dog?

In a work context, 'Yellow Dog' most commonly refers to a 'yellow-dog contract,' which is an agreement between an employer and an employee in which the employee agrees not to join a labor union. These contracts were historically used in the United States to prevent workers from organizing but have since been made illegal by the Norris-LaGuardia Act of 1932. The term 'Yellow Dog' is not typically used as a job title, but rather refers to this type of labor agreement. If you encountered 'Yellow Dog' as a job title, it's important to seek clarification from the employer regarding the specific job responsibilities and context.

Job description

Sales Executive

Role Overview:

Yellow Dog Software, the leader in inventory management solutions, is growing and looking for experienced, results-driven sales professionals to join our team. We partner closely with clients across a variety of industries, including food & beverage, gaming, resorts, hotels, amusement, institutions, clubs, and retail.

We are hiring Sales Executives to support growth across several of our key vertical markets. The ideal candidate is a consultative, self-motivated sales professional who can quickly learn our technology, identify opportunities, and build trusted relationships with both operational users and business leaders. Vertical alignment will be based on experience, strengths, and business needs.

The ideal candidate is a consultative B2B seller with strong business judgment, excellent CRM discipline, and the ability to manage complex opportunities independently. This person must be able to qualify effectively, prioritize high-value opportunities, and build a healthy pipeline through inbound leads, outbound prospecting, partner referrals, trade shows, and strategic account targeting.

This role requires someone who can sell into operationally complex environments, communicate clearly with both executives and end users, and collaborate cross-functionally with implementation, support, product, integrations, account management, marketing, and partner teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Managing the full sales cycle from discovery to close.
  • Building and maintaining a qualified pipeline.
  • Qualify opportunities based on fit, urgency, revenue potential, technical feasibility, and implementation readiness
  • Accurately maintaining opportunities, notes, next steps, and forecasts in CRM.
  • Following up on inbound, outbound, trade show, and partner-sourced leads.
  • Build credibility with both executive decision-makers and operational users
  • Develop strong working knowledge of the software and deliver hands-on, consultative demonstrations that connect system capabilities to the prospect’s vertical, business needs, and operational workflows
  • Collaborate with internal teams to confirm fit, feasibility, and implementation expectations.
  • Meet or exceed assigned monthly, and annual sales goals.
  • Representing the company professionally in market, partner, and trade show settings.
