Job description

About the Role:
Big Steps Little Feet is looking for a warm, enthusiastic Assistant Young 3's Teacher to join their team in Ada, MI! This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young children during their most formative years. Responsibilities:
  • Assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing age-appropriate activities for young 3-year-olds
  • Support a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment that encourages growth and development
  • Guide children through daily routines including circle time, free play, snack, and transitions
  • Observe and monitor children's behavior, social interactions, and developmental milestones
  • Communicate openly and positively with parents and guardians regarding their child's progress
  • Assist with classroom management and reinforce positive behavior strategies
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating classroom setting
Requirements:
  • Experience working with toddlers or preschool-aged children preferred
  • Basic knowledge of early childhood development principles
  • Patience, compassion, and a genuine love for working with young children
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive, high-energy classroom environment
  • CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in Early Childhood Education a plus
