THE ROLE: The Service Center Technician will be responsible for initiating and executing service activities at service center locations in a safe and efficient manner. This role proactively troubleshoots systems, works with mechanical, electrical, diesel equipment, conducts preventative maintenance and parts inventory, and anticipates and corrects safety issues (both Company and Customer owned equipment). May interface with customers. In this role, the individual will also support the delivery of Xylem equipment when necessary. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES: To perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Create and maintain safe working environment and culture within the organization
• Take care of company property
• Demonstrate high impact culture through innovation, accountability and empowerment
• Must be able to function in a team environment
• Usually works with minimal supervision
• Works independently
Additional duties and responsibilities may be required based on organizational needs
QUALIFICATIONS:
• HS diploma or equivalent
• May have industry specific license(s) preferred
• Ability to obtain all required customer clearances (TWIC, DISA, etc.)
• Ability to obtain DOT Medical card
• Clean driving record
• Work experience preferred
• 2 to 5 years of technical work experience including industrial or commercial process water experience
DAY IN THE LIFE:
In this role, the working environment is frequently outdoors, weather extremes, use of PPE, exposures to hazardous material, loud noise, etc. The physical demands may include but not limited to regularly sitting, standing, lifting up to 50 lbs., etc. In addition, this role may travel 20%-30% depending on workload (including overnight stays, away from home) and may be required to work on weekend, nights, on-call as a regular part of the job.
SALARY:
Starting pay is dependent on multiple factors, such as skills, experience and work location, and is not typically at the top of the range.
