Job description

- Always follow and help enforce safe practice and rules.
- Works from the ground to keep work area clear of debris using handsaws, pole saws and pruners, hand pruners, loppers, and gasoline-powered equipment to cut brush and trees.
- Define staging areas.
- Setting up and breaking down material, tools, and equipment as required.
- Prepare and feed brush into woodchipper.
- Loading and unloading trucks with logs, stumps, brush, and debris
- Operating various trucks and equipment as assigned.
- Perform basic maintenance service on trucks and equipment; keep trucks and other assigned equipment in neat and orderly fashion; report the need for major repairs to truck and equipment.
- Tying knots, rope breaks, and speed lines according to industry standard.
- Safeguard employees and the public from hazards in and around the work area.
- Flag traffic to protect employees and the public from potential harm or injury.
- Able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
This is a full-time position. Specific hours will be assigned by your supervisor. The Groundsperson may be required to work overtime and/or weekends.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience in vegetation management, construction, logging, landscaping, mechanical, or military industries preferred.
- Valid Driver's license required. CDL preferred.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance
Position requires employee to be able to pass a background check and drug screen as required for this job.
