Job description

We're looking for an engineer to help build the Xcode IDE, a cornerstone of the Apple Developer Ecosystem. Millions of application developers use Xcode to deliver on their ambitions, and countless organizations use Xcode to transform ideas into launched applications.
Our team delivers Xcode's Source Editor, a central part of every developer's experience. We're looking for engineers with a passion for building the tools that other developers use every day to ship their own Apps and other software.
Description
As an engineer on the Xcode Source Editor team, you'll build, design, and refine source-code related features in Xcode. You will improve core pieces of functionality, improve stability and performance, and assist feature growth.
An important part of your job will be to seek continuous refinement and improvement of existing solutions, there are always opportunities to apply polish and tighten robustness. You will work cross-functionally within Apple to shape and drive architecture.
At Apple, you'll work with the engineers who create our frameworks, languages, compilers, and operating systems, bringing an incredible amount of knowledge, transparency, and context to the features you'll build. In developer tools, you'll have the unique opportunity to directly improve your development environment by building features for the tools you'll use every day.
Minimum Qualifications
3 years experience developing desktop or mobile applications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or a related field
A track record of building thoughtful, polished user experiences
A demonstrated ability to think critically and creatively
Instincts for clear problem solving and an ability to discern when a simpler or different approach is needed
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Swift and Apple's platforms and SDKs
Strong depth of understanding in one or more of: User Experience design and engineering, Performance optimization, API and standards design, compilers and lower-level runtime features, developer tools engineering
