Job description

Position Summary
The X-Ray Technician I is responsible for performing radiographic inspections and quality evaluations to ensure products meet company and customer specifications. This role operates and calibrates x-ray and inspection equipment, interprets radiographic results, conducts final product inspections, and maintains accurate documentation in support of manufacturing and quality processes. The X-Ray Technician I is committed to maintaining a safe work environment while complying with all company policies, ISO standards, and quality requirements. This position is available for 2nd shift.
Principal Activities
  • Perform x-ray inspections on products to verify quality and identify defects.
  • Conduct radiographic inspections and accurately interpret film results.
  • Operate TPK systems and other testing equipment.
  • Calibrate x-ray and inspection equipment to ensure proper operation.
  • Perform final electrical, visual, and dimensional inspections of finished products.
  • Inspect returned material authorizations (RMAs) and document findings.
  • Complete and maintain inspection records, testing documentation, and quality reports.
  • Review job paperwork, return entries, inspection reports, and related documentation for accuracy and completeness.
  • Log shipments and prepare required shipping documentation.
  • Operate and utilize CMM equipment and dimensional measuring instruments as required.
  • Ensure all work complies with ISO standards, work instructions, and quality procedures.
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures, including those outlined in the employee handbook.
  • Support and demonstrate commitment to the company's Quality Policy.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment by following all safety policies and procedures.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Qualifications, Skills & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Formal technical education, training, and Level I X-Ray Technician certification required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in x-ray testing and evaluation.
  • Two (2) to three (3) years of experience operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) equipment.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Working knowledge of machining, assembly operations, and manufacturing methods and procedures.
  • Ability to operate, set up, adjust, and troubleshoot x-ray equipment, CMM equipment, and precision measuring instruments.
  • Proficiency using micrometers, gauges, HyPot equipment, TPK systems, test blocks, and temperature bath controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and written work instructions.
  • Strong mathematical skills, including the use of fractions and precision measurements.
  • Ability to accurately read rulers, gauges, and other measuring devices.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate records and an organized work area.
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and sound judgment.
  • Good hand-eye coordination and the ability to perform precision inspection tasks.
