Job description

This is a global role based out of the United States. Candidates are welcome to work from any location (remotely) in the US as long as they are flexible working in global time zones.

Industry X, referring to Industry X.0 solutions & services that help our Manufacturing clients & beyond to revolutionize the way they design, manufacturer and utilize products and services, represents a significant opportunity to drive incremental growth for Avanade and Accenture on the Microsoft platform.

Role Overview

As a Technical Architect, you'll be a Subject Matter Expert and responsible for providing industry-specific guidance and insights to our clients and internal teams. You'll be part of the global Industry X core team and support and enable our regional teams incubate and scale industry-specific solutions and services, with a focus on:

  • Helping our clients establish shopfloor connectivity and a scalable OT Data & Platform foundation to enable new IT/OT solutions and business value-adding services.

  • Harvesting, evolving and industrializing related best practice approaches and reusables assets

  • Help shaping repeatable Factory Data Foundation and Agentic Factory AI & Analytics offerings aligned to market needs and internal roadmaps as SME.

  • Though this is a global role, regional integration with key stakeholders is key to deliver impact and multiplicator effects.

Key Accountabilities

  • Foster market reputation and awareness for Avanade Industry X solutions and services.

  • Establish and sustain strategic relationships with Accenture, Microsoft, and relevant industry partners.

  • Enable, support and coach local teams in unlocking and capturing Industry X growth opportunities, thereby actively driving Avanade Industry X Pipeline, overall and for Advisory services.

  • Guide Bid Teams on defining winning strategies and developing tailored solutions and services.

  • Be the Advisory lead within Industry X projects, defining appropriate technical architectures and/or ensuring value realization.

  • Create reusable assets and accelerators and contribute to the continuous launch of new Industry X advisory services.

As a Technical Architect, you will have 5+ years of proven experience in overall software enterprise architecture, a good understanding of OT and IT and an in-depth expertise around Industrial IoT and designing Intelligent Digital Twins based on knowledge graphs and AI in the Microsoft ecosystem, especially in manufacturing and operations. In this context, the candidate should have experience of working with the related Microsoft Azure and open-source services, be familiar with most relevant Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and be able to integrate them into the Microsoft based architecture based on client scenarios. The candidate should also understand standard Ontologies and frameworks in the manufacturing and operations domain. Functional knowledge of data science, security and data platforms is key.

Ideally, your skills and experience and include:

5+ years' industry experience and understanding of the business drivers and requirements of the industry supported with a view on transformation/change within it. From special interest would be industry expertise within:

  • Discrete Manufacturing: Automotive, Industrial Equipment, Aerospace & Defense, High Tech

  • Process Manufacturing: Consumer Goods, Life Sciences

  • Resources: Chemicals, Natural Resources, Energy, Utilities

Knowledge of the digital and industry 4.0 technologies that can enhance the shopfloor performance, such as IoT, cloud computing, big data analytics, artificial intelligence, robotics, additive manufacturing, etc. From special interest would be relevant expertise encompassing applications of:

  • Digital Twin

  • Computer Vision

  • Generative AI / AI Agents / Agentic AI

Strong knowledge of industry standards such as ISA95 and OPCUA, including handson experience with applying these standards to OT/IT data models, asset hierarchies, and interoperable manufacturing data exchange; practical implementation experience is preferred.

Demonstrated experience helping clients amplify their existing data and analytic platforms by implementing state-of-the-art, best-in-breed data platform, IoT architectures, AI and Machine Learning models.

In particular, existing Factory Agents & Analytics (Manufacturing Data Solutions) experience is a plus.

Good ability to translate business requirements into plausible technical solutions, and vice versa explain complex solutions and concepts in a non-technical language.

Proficiency to communicate effectively with clients and stakeholders up to C-Level, presenting findings and recommendations in a clear and convincing manner.

Passionate about trends and technical/industry thought leadership.
