Wurth Wood Group is seeking an experienced Territory Sales Manager for the Richmond, VA region.

Home Office and Nearest Distribution Facility Location: 1701 Rhoadmiller St, Richmond, VA 23220
Area of Service:  Within a one-hour radius of our Richmond branch. 

Active Clients: You will inherit an active book of business to be discussed in detail during the interview process.  These will be your accounts without any internal competition or territorial overlap with other reps at the company.  

Hunting vs. Farming:  25% hunting new business and 75% account maintenance. 

Typical Customers: High-end residential custom cabinet shops, kitchen & bath design companies, and other types of millwork fabricators. 

Preferred Product Experience:  Experience selling any of the following products would be considered highly desirable:  wood products such as lumber and plywood (sheet goods), cabinetry and cabinetry accessories (hinges, drawer slides, handles), paint/stain/lacquer products, laminate products, fasteners, hand & power tools, and other products related to woodworking/millwork.

We want a GO-GETTER! – Someone outgoing, self-motivated, and driven to grow will excel in this role. 

Road vs. Office Time:  5 days per week on the road with occasional “callout days” in the office as needed. 

Vendor (Product) Training: Once established, the company will invest in thorough product training events for this territory manager at several key vendors.

  • Compensation Structure: 
    • Commission Structure:  3% of Gross Margin after 6-month guarantee at $1,500.00/month.
    • Estimated gross pretax earnings (base + commission) for a first-year new hire:
      • $80k - Good first year
      • $85k - Great first year
    • This automotive allowance is in lieu of a gas card or company car.  using the app "MOTUS." 
    • This includes a tax-free fixed and variable rate reimbursement for your vehicle and fuel costs. 
    • Fixed covers set vehicle ownership costs such as insurance, licensure, restructuration, taxes, and depreciation. 
    • Variable reflects actual driving costs based on mileage and location like fuel, oil, maintenance, and tires.
    • $45k Base + Commission
    • Automotive Allowance + Mileage Reimbursement = $525 per month + $0.19 per mile.

As a Territory Sales Manager, you will work independently and decide how to best grow your market. You will look for top solutions for both the company and our customers and deliver quality service and reliability to your customers. Your responsibilities include handling current customer accounts, growing sales and growing your accounts overall. Treat your territory as if it is your own business, use your follow up skills and help us become the company of choice for our customers.

Requirements:

  • Two (2) years of demonstrated success in outside sales experience, preferably in the woodworking or industrial/distribution arena
  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
