What are WSIs?

WSIs, or Whole Slide Images, are high-resolution digital scans of entire microscope slides, commonly used in pathology and medical research. These digital images allow pathologists and researchers to view, share, and analyze slides virtually, rather than relying solely on physical glass slides and microscopes. WSIs can be zoomed and navigated much like maps, providing detailed visualization at various magnifications. Their use enhances collaboration, remote diagnosis, and the application of artificial intelligence in medical imaging.
