Job Purpose
Tutor students in writing in the Writing Center.
Duties and Responsibilities
Tutor students in writing
Ensure that appointment details are correct and that all necessary information has been recorded
Fill out tutorial reports
Abide by the policies in the Writing Center Manual
Expected to continue professional development as a tutor
Mentor and evaluate student interns from WRIT500
Qualifications
Successful completion of WRIT500
Working knowledge of citation styles including MLA and APA
Willingness to tutor on-line and in person
Preferred Skills
Prior tutoring experience is preferred but not required
Good understanding of grammar
Comfortable with technology
Comfortable working with a diverse student population
Able to be friendly and professional with coworkers and visitors to the center
