Description

Lumibility is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Development Associate to join our Development and Marketing team. This position supports grant development, fundraising initiatives, donor engagement, community partnerships, and outreach activities that help advance Lumibility's mission and strengthen philanthropic support throughout Connecticut. 

The ideal candidate is an organized self-starter with strong communication skills, an interest in nonprofit fundraising and grant writing, and a passion for building meaningful community relationships.


Location: Westbrook, CT

Schedule: Part-Time 25 Hours Per Week

Pay Rate: Between $25.00-$26.00/hour


Working closely with the Director of Marketing and Development, the Development Associate will support grant research and writing, donor stewardship, fundraising activities, community outreach, event coordination, and donor database management. This role plays an important part in helping Lumibility expand funding opportunities and cultivate strong relationships with donors, sponsors, foundations, businesses, and community partners.


Essential Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify grant funding opportunities from foundation, corporate, government, and community funding sources.  
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of grant applications, reports, and related documentation. 
  • Maintain grant calendars, funding timelines, deadlines, and supporting records.
  • Collect and organize program data, outcomes, and success stories to support funding requests and donor communications.
  • Coordinate donor acknowledgment, communication, recognition, and stewardship activities. 
  • Maintain accurate donor, prospect, gift, and fundraising records within donor management systems. 
  • Support the planning and implementation of fundraising, donor, and community engagement events.
  • Participate in community events, networking opportunities, and outreach activities that promote Lumibility's mission. 
  • Assist in developing and maintaining relationships with community partners, businesses, sponsors, and foundations. 
  • Provide administrative support for development and marketing activities, including donor communications and mass mailings. 

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience or strong interest in grant writing and fundraising, preferably within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization. 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. 
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 
  • Experience with donor management systems such as DonorPerfect is preferred. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and related business software. 
  • Valid Connecticut driver's license, reliable transportation, and an acceptable driving record.
