Job description

SCHOOL/COLLEGE: School of Humanities

DEPARTMENT: First Year Writing

FLSA STATUS:  Exempt

EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Part-time Temporary

POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

Seton Hill University, seeks qualified part-time adjunct instructors to teach first-year writing courses for the upcoming fall semester. These courses serve first-year college students and emphasize the fundamentals of academic reading and writing within a liberal arts educational framework. Selected candidates must be available during daytime hours on select weekdays. These positions are offered on a semester-by-semester contract basis.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in English Composition, English Literature, or a related field

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in English Composition, English Literature, or a related field
  • Prior teaching experience at the secondary or post-secondary level

Required applicant materials include: current curriculum vitae.  Anticipated start date is August 2026. Review of applications will continue until the position is filled.
