Job description

FSSI is looking for a full-time Mail Sorter to join our 2nd shift team in Orlando, Florida. This position is responsible for sorting of mail from the mail insert machine and assisting operators with mail production.

Schedule: 2nd shift; Full-time, Monday - Friday, 2:00 pm - 10:30 pm

Overtime is scheduled on an as needed basis. Extended hours are usually scheduled at least once a month, typically during the first 7 days of each month to complete month end processing. Additional overtime could be scheduled during the week and could include weekends in rare circumstances.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Transfer sealed envelopes from insert machine to mail trays.
  • Ensure all envelopes are stamped and sealed.
  • Confirm mailing addresses and micro numbers are visible in envelope window.
  • Place filled mail trays onto pallets.
  • Sort at more than one machine at a time.
  • Assist machine operators with preparation work prior to start of each job.
  • Assist machine operators with the clearing of stock and materials at the end of each job.
  • Flexibility in work schedule, frequently 10 or more hours per day, is required on a recurring basis.
  • Assist the department with additional work, as needed and/or requested.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication, interpersonal, organizational, strong time management, attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must exhibit a strong customer service philosophy and attitude.
  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Work effectively independently and as a member of a team and work with all levels of employees.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and/or fingers to grasp, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is standing continuously up to 10 hours a day. There is continuous movement of the upper body. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift/move up to 40 pounds independently. Specific vision required by this job include close vision, distance vision, accurate color vision, peripheral vision, and focus adjustments.
