Position: Load Coordinator

Location: USA | Cartersville, Georgia


This is considered a safety sensitive position therefore will be subject to random drug testing as required.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the input and distribution of freight to power units in the Regional and Pneumatic Division in the Cartersville terminal
  • Responsible for the customer contact and interaction for the Regional and Pneumatic Division in the Cartersville terminal with a focus on the customer
  • Ensures that both divisions comply with all applicable DOT and FMCSA regulations including but not limited to, hours of service regulations, load weight restrictions, and other applicable regulatory requirements
  • Understand and manage the satellite system being used in all of the power units
  • Responsible for the economic performance for both divisions
  • Responsible for managing the deadhead percentage for both divisions
  • Coordinate with driver managers to ensure all power units and trailers are inspected in a timely manner every 90 days as a minimum
  • Coordinates with the logistics division regarding loads that would be tendered from them to the carriers divisions
  • Ensures all customer transportation requirements are met by the two divisions
  • Tracks and ensures that On Time objectives are met
  • Maintains a high degree of integrity at all times and in all circumstances
  • Performs all duties in a professional manner, promoting the image, growth, profitability, and success of the company
  • Maintains a high degree of confidentiality with issues related to drivers (private and personal matters), rates, customers, and other proprietary items
  • Deploys Operational Excellence approach to all aspects of the operation, including, but not limited to, suggestions, Gemba walks, 5S, lean vents, coaching, standard work, visual management, Kanban, and Voice of the Customer
  • Other duties as assigned

Education: HS Diploma or equivalent required.

Work Hours: Incumbent will work the number of hours needed to accomplish job duties.  Work schedule will be based upon business needs. Will be on call for entire fleet for one week once every four weeks (rotating schedule between operations staff)
