Benefits & Authorization Associate

The Benefits & Authorization Associate is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, and securing payer approvals to support timely access to care across organizational service lines. This role serves as a liaison between patients, providers, payers, and internal departments to facilitate efficient service delivery while ensuring compliance with payer requirements, regulatory standards, and organizational policies.

Position Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in healthcare insurance verification, prior authorizations, patient access, revenue cycle, medical billing, or related healthcare operations required.
  • Experience working with commercial insurance, Medicare, Medicaid, and managed care payers preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, healthcare reimbursement, and payer authorization requirements preferred.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR), payer portals, and practice management systems preferred.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
