Automotive Service Writer – Davie, FL

Join Our Team! We are looking for an experienced, motivated, and customer-focused Automotive Service Writer to join our team in Davie, Florida. As a Service Writer, you will be the key connection between our customers and our technicians. You will be responsible for providing a great customer experience, understanding customers' vehicle concerns, recommending needed services, preparing estimates, and making sure repairs are completed accurately and efficiently. We are looking for someone who is confident, professional, organized, and knowledgeable about automotive repair. If you enjoy working with people, understand vehicles, and know how to build trust with customers, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Greet customers and provide a professional, friendly experience
  • Listen carefully to customers' vehicle concerns and accurately document their needs
  • Communicate with customers throughout the repair process and provide updates on vehicle status
  • Review vehicle inspections and communicate recommended repairs and maintenance
  • Prepare accurate estimates and explain repairs, pricing, and timelines clearly to customers
  • Obtain customer approval before repairs are performed
  • Build and manage computerized repair orders
  • Work closely with technicians to ensure repairs are diagnosed and completed properly
  • Recommend maintenance and repairs based on vehicle condition and manufacturer guidelines
  • Follow up with customers regarding declined or recommended services
  • Help maximize shop sales while maintaining honesty, transparency, and customer trust
  • Assist with parts sourcing and coordinating parts with technicians
  • Promote current shop specials and available services
  • Maintain accurate customer and vehicle records
  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and professional front counter and customer waiting area
  • Assist with the overall operation of the shop as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of automotive Service Writer experience preferred
  • Strong general automotive knowledge
  • Ability to understand vehicle inspections and explain repairs to customers
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Strong sales and customer relationship skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced automotive repair environment
  • Professional appearance and positive attitude
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work effectively with technicians and other team members
  • Experience with computerized repair orders/shop management software is a plus
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including Saturdays
