By owning the entire market data stack end-to-end, Databento is the first platform of its kind to combine the performance and reliability demanded by the world's leading trading firms with a dramatically simpler developer experience. Our team includes alumni of Two Sigma, Citadel Securities, Flow Traders, Tower Research, PDT Partners, SIG, and other top quantitative firms.

We're looking for a UX Writer to shape the voice of our products and create intuitive, user-centered experiences across our platform. You'll partner closely with product designers, engineers, and go-to-market teams to ensure every interaction is clear, consistent, and thoughtfully crafted.

This is a highly cross-functional role with broad ownership and visibility across the company. You'll help simplify complex financial concepts, establish messaging standards, and influence the product experience for a growing user base. As a UX Writer, you'll have the opportunity to define our content strategy, build scalable processes, and make a lasting impact on both our product and brand.

As the UX Writer at Databento, you will:
  • Own copy across all product surfaces, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and user-focused
  • Collaborate with product designers to optimize user flows and improve the overall product experience
  • Review product mockups and prototypes, providing copy recommendations and supporting design-to-engineering handoffs
  • Partner with engineering teams to develop intuitive language for complex technical concepts and workflows
  • Work closely with product and go-to-market teams to ensure product messaging aligns drives success of product
  • Develop and maintain messaging frameworks, voice and tone guidelines, and copywriting standards
  • Support content design initiatives
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on UX writing and content strategy
  • Identify opportunities to improve product usability through thoughtful language and content design
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Prior job experience in UX/UI writing, product design, product marketing, technical writing, or any copywriting role
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centered writing
  • Excellent written communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and design
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with product, engineering, and design teams
