Conde Nast is seeking a Senior Shopping Writer to craft unique and compelling shopping-focused content for Vogue.
The ideal candidate will be passionate about shopping across every category and possess a strong background in both writing and the fashion market and merchandising space. The candidate should have an understanding of how to skillfully position a story to attract readers and retain loyal audiences while maintaining the Vogue standard.
The Senior Shopping Writer should be comfortable optimizing all shopping content, using best practices for affiliate and SEO. The ideal candidate enjoys analyzing traffic and conversion results to inform future stories, as well as brainstorming new ways to engage our audience around shopping-driven stories on all our digital platforms, including social, newsletter, SMS, and storefront. The candidate should have a strong editorial eye and taste level with a passion for curation and discovery. This role reports into Vogue's Shopping Director.
Responsibilities
  • Write, pitch, and optimize up to 5 shopping stories each week, working with the Vogue Shopping and editorial teams to ensure that all content is on-brand.
  • Work with the Shopping Director to manage and execute a long-term shopping editorial calendar with a focus on SEO/GEO fashion content, identifying new keyword opportunities for long-lead and Discovering and bolstering existing evergreens
  • Work closely with the Marketing & Production Manager on any multichannel copy needs, including newsletter, SMS, Vogue App, and social
  • Own weekly shopping franchises start to finish, from excellent product curation to visual and written storytelling
  • Identify and plan around editorial categories and seasonal tent poles that present a commerce opportunity for Vogue, studying purchasing data, tracking site analytics, researching trends, and performing competitive analysis of comparable sites
  • Identify new shopping content opportunities including trending products and industry trends
  • Keep finger on the pulse of trends and what consumers are interested in before other publications cover
  • Work with Fashion Market Director in ideation and execution of original imagery to use across the vertical, being comfortable in producing user generated content.
  • Coordinate closely with cross-functional teams for best practices that will inform editorial decision-making.

Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate must have product & shopping editorial expertise and a strong enthusiasm for helping define the content-to-commerce strategy at Vogue
  • A minimum of two years writing or editing commerce/affiliate content at a digital property, with a strong understanding of SEO/GEO strategies and best practices
  • Enthusiasm for writing and a creative tone of voice
  • Background in fashion and accessory market preferred
  • Ideal candidate will have their own relationships with fashion and beauty brands as well as retailers
  • Experience analyzing performance across different verticals, product categories, retailers and content types to optimize for revenue generation
  • Experience in managing product sourcing logistics at a digital property (either editorial or commerce)
  • Strong organizational skills, a self-directed work style, and polished communication skills
  • A self-starter who relishes the opportunity to directly accelerate the growth of Conde Nast commerce business

The expected base salary range for this position is from $85,000 - $95,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including but not limited to relevant skills, training, experience, and education.
In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates may also be eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation.
