WRA is currently seeking an experienced Roadway Engineer with a strong technical background to support the growth of our practice in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  The Roadway Engineer will be responsible for working with a team of engineers on the planning and design of transportation projects in Virginia. Anticipated types of projects include intersection and interchange design, new roadway alignments, roadway widenings, roundabouts, interstates, and pedestrian and bicycle facilities. The Roadway Project Engineer will be responsible for the design of horizontal and vertical alignments, development of roadway plans and profiles, roadside evaluation elements, maintenance of traffic design, preparation of construction plans, specifications, cost estimates and the development of technical reports.

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license registered in the Commonwealth of Virginia or ability to obtain within 6 months of employment through comity from another state
  • 11-15 years of relevant job experience related to roadway engineering (experience with VDOT preferred)
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally/written at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to handle multiple assignments
  • Experience with design software tools such as MicroStation, OpenRoads and AutoCAD 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

The expected compensation range for this position is $140,000.00 - $215,000.00. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
