Reporting to the Director, Asset Management, a successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the quality of the data collected for the US wind, solar and battery assets as well as identifying reporting needs to continuously monitor and improve the performance of the assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor data quality across all data acquisition, monitoring, and SCADA systems to ensure complete and accurate performance data
  • Calculate and report on key power plant metrics to determine the overall health and performance of the assets and generate ad-hoc reports
  • Develop and implement dashboards to allow for live monitoring and assessment of up-to-date wind and solar farm performance by operations and asset management team
  • Monitor generation performance of operating projects and propose potential improvements to minimize costs, risk, and losses, while maximizing potential generation
  • Manage contractual availability/production guarantee calculations with O&M providers and PPA customers
  • Responsible for regular performance reports for multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform ad hoc data queries and analysis in support of operations, asset management, and commercial teams
  • Understand IEC standards for plant performance and advise on implementation of such models
  • Validate and improve lost energy calculation methods
  • Demonstrate a strong alignment with corporate values, including health, safety and environment

Requirements:

  • Excellent understanding of SCADA data and energy production methods
  • Knowledge of data mining, troubleshooting, and reporting
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team and to manage multiple concurrent projects
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and planning, prioritizing and organizing abilities
  • Proficiency with database analysis
  • Proficient with Microsoft applications
  • A strong personal commitment to continuous improvement
  • Values excellence in safety and environmental performance

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent technical experience
  • 4+ years of relevant experience
  • Understanding of wind, solar & battery energy technologies. Including major wind turbine components, solar inverters, and data collection/analysis tools
  • Experience with Power Factors, Bazefield, or other asset performance management tools is an asset
  • Experience with PI and/or SQL is an asset
  • Experience in renewable energy development is an asset
  • Experience with GE, Vestas, and/or Siemens Gamesa wind farm data is an asset
  • Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or other BI tools is an asset

Salary: $110K - $140K with a 10% Target Bonus
