At New Roads Behavioral Health, we support young adults working through mental health and life challenges. As a Residential Mentor, you'll play a key role in creating a safe, structured, and supportive environment where clients can grow, heal, and build life skills.


This is a great opportunity for anyone interested in mental health, psychology, social work, or human services-or anyone who enjoys meaningful, hands-on work.


Schedule

  • 4-5 shifts per week
  • Weekday swing shifts: 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM
  • Weekend day or swing shifts: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM or 4:00 PM - 12:00 AM


What You'll Do

  • Build positive, supportive relationships with clients and serve as a role model
  • Supervise daily activities and help maintain a structured, therapeutic environment
  • Participate in group sessions, recreational activities, and outings
  • Support clients in managing emotions, completing assignments, and developing life skills
  • Assist with medication organization and ensure safety protocols are followed
  • Document daily progress and communicate with the clinical team
  • Help plan activities like shopping, recreation, and skill-building exercises


What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in caregiving, behavioral health, or working with young adults (preferred, not required)
  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • Strong communication skills and ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Interest in mental health and helping others grow
