Job description
Vice Provost, School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design
Location: Dallas, TX (On-site)
Reports to: Provost & Chief Academic Officer
Position Summary
Our Client seeks a visionary, collaborative and forward-thinking academic leader to serve as Vice Provost of the School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design. Reporting to the Provost & Chief Academic Officer, the Vice Provost will provide strategic leadership for academic quality, student success, faculty and academic manager development, program effectiveness, resource stewardship and partnerships with employers and community organizations.
This is a distinctive opportunity to shape learning across creative disciplines while helping students move from education to meaningful careers. The School’s work brings together classroom learning, creative practice, experiential opportunities and external partnerships. The College has highlighted CAED-related experiences such as Design Week, the Future of Fashion Showcase and collaboration with Universidad Creativa in Costa Rica through fashion, exchange-program development and Collaborative Online International Learning.
The Vice Provost will provide leadership for the planning, implementation and evaluation of programs within the School; advocate for students, faculty, instructors, local business and industry; advise the Provost on professional and technical education; and actively engage community and employer partners to create new partnerships, responsive programs and revenue opportunities.
The School of Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design (CAED) prepares students for careers across the creative economy through programs in the arts, design, entertainment, media, and related disciplines. Serving approximately 45,000 students and supported by over 250 full-time faculty, CAED combines academic excellence with industry-relevant learning experiences that help students develop the creative, technical, and professional skills needed for success.
The school also includes English, Communications, and World Languages, disciplines that are central to the college's academic mission and student success agenda. These programs deliver many of the gateway and general education courses that students encounter early in their academic journey, helping build the communication, critical-thinking, cultural competency, and language skills that underpin achievement across virtually every field of study.
The Vice Provost for Creative Arts, Entertainment and Design provides strategic leadership for one of the institution's largest and most dynamic academic schools. This role helps ensure that academic programs remain responsive to student needs, industry trends, workforce demands, and emerging opportunities within the creative and entertainment sectors.
The successful candidate will understand the distinct needs of creative and career-connected programs and will be able to build a shared vision across disciplines and locations. The leader will strengthen academic pathways, support relevant curriculum and instruction, expand experiential learning and employment pipelines, and advocate for students, faculty and staff across the College and in the broader community.
Why This Role Matters
The Vice Provost will help connect creative education with student opportunity, industry relevance and community impact. This leader will:
- Set a clear and inspiring vision for the School and align that vision with the College’s mission and strategic goals.

- Champion interdisciplinary collaboration among creative fields and across College functions.
- Steward people, budgets and resources while identifying opportunities for grants, fundraising and sustainable growth.
- Represent and advocate for the School, its programs and its people within the College and throughout the community.
