Job description

Position Summary

World Class Distribution (WCD) is seeking an experienced Deli & JIT Manager to lead daily warehouse operations within our Deli/Just-In-Time (JIT) department. This position is responsible for supervising team members, ensuring accurate shipping and receiving processes, maintaining inventory integrity, promoting safety, and meeting productivity and quality goals in a fast-paced distribution environment.

The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong warehouse operations experience, knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and experience operating material handling equipment.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Supervise the daily operations of the Deli/JIT department to ensure efficient workflow and productivity.
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse associates while maintaining a positive and accountable work environment.
  • Monitor shipping and receiving activities to ensure timely and accurate movement of products.
  • Utilize Warehouse Management System (WMS) to manage inventory, track orders, and maintain accurate records.
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through cycle counts and proper product handling procedures.
  • Coordinate staffing assignments to meet operational demands and customer service expectations.
  • Operate warehouse equipment as needed and ensure employees are following safe equipment operating procedures.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching, conduct performance evaluations, and administer corrective actions when necessary.
  • Enforce company safety policies, GMPs, OSHA regulations, and food safety standards.
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues while implementing process improvements.
  • Communicate effectively with Operations, Inventory Control, Quality Assurance, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a warehouse or distribution environment.
  • Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably within food distribution or cold storage.
  • Strong knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
  • Experience with shipping and receiving operations.
  • Experience operating warehouse equipment such as:
  • Stand-up forklift
  • Sit-down forklift
  • Electric pallet jack
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and warehouse processes.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Food distribution or refrigerated warehouse experience.
  • Experience leading teams in a high-volume distribution center.
  • Knowledge of inventory management and continuous improvement practices.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and move throughout the shift.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work in varying warehouse temperatures, including refrigerated environments when necessary.
  • Ability to safely operate warehouse equipment.

  • Full-time
  • Schedule will vary based on operational needs, including weekends and overtime as required.
