Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Environmental Services team is seeking an Electrician. This position works with considerable independence. This position is distinguished by advanced electro-mechanical experience and is responsible for leading electrical installation, maintenance, inspection, and repair activities for industrial equipment and facilities. Work is performed under general supervision using independent judgment regarding methods of repair after receiving instructions or work orders. This classification is a DOT-regulated position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead work related to the installation of new electrical equipment and the maintenance of existing electrical systems and equipment
  • Fabricate electrical services, parts, and equipment as needed to support operations
  • Conduct electrical inspections of equipment and systems to ensure proper operation and compliance
  • Diagnose electrical malfunctions and perform necessary repairs
  • Perform routine and preventive maintenance to ensure reliability and minimize downtime
  • Coordinate preventive and proactive maintenance activities with Operations personnel under the direction of management and in accordance with established schedules
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment, including tools and work areas
  • Operate a variety of hand and power tools and equipment, including but not limited to drills, generators, grinders, pipe cutters, threaders, and saws
  • Use maintenance management software to create, update, and close work orders; track work history, parts, and associated costs
  • Use a computer or tablet for data entry, documentation, and reporting as required
  • Mentor, coach, and provide guidance to other team members
  • Comply with all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements, including DOT regulations
  • Perform related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or equivalent GED. Along with a minimum of four (4) years' experience in routine electrical maintenance tasks; or any equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.
1 to 2 years technical or trade schooling in electrical field and 5 or more years' experience in industrial maintenance of electrical equipment preferred. Candidates must successfully pass a written examination covering basic to intermediate concepts relevant to the field (minimum passing score of 70%). The position requires the ability to perform heavy physical work and essential job functions including climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, lifting, and repetitive motions. Employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, chemicals, extreme temperatures, confined workspaces, loud noise, and other industrial environmental conditions.
Salary Range:
$36.34/hr.
