As a high-growth firm, Wilson Engineers offers the opportunity to work on impactful and technically challenging projects alongside a talented and passionate team.  We are seeking an experienced Civil Project Engineer (Grading/Drainage/Pipeline Design) to join our team. This position requires 40 hours per week in our Tempe office (This job is not remote nor hybrid). 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop grading and paving designs using Autodesk Civil 3D, utilizing feature lines and corridor modeling to create accurate, constructible finished ground surfaces.
  • Design water and wastewater infrastructure, including gravity sewer and pressurized water pipeline systems, using Civil 3D pipe network tools. 
  • Prepare and annotate plan and profile sheets, including exaggerated paving, sewer, storm drain, and water profiles for design and construction documentation. 
  • Apply advanced surveying principles by importing field survey data, generating easement and property boundary linework from legal descriptions, and creating or modifying existing and proposed ground surfaces within Civil 3D. 
  • Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits from CAD linework and perform grid-to-ground coordinate conversions using appropriate scale factors. 
  • Process LiDAR point cloud data in Autodesk ReCap and develop accurate existing ground surface models for engineering design. 
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Principals, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality design solutions. 
  • Translate technical direction into accurate engineering plans and design deliverables while meeting project schedules and quality standards. 
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of infrastructure projects by producing precise, constructible designs that support client and project objectives.

Requirements
  • Must possess a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
  • Requires a minimum of four (4) to eight (8) years of Grading and Drainage/Utility Pipeline design experience including construction-related engineering services.
  • A current Arizona Professional Engineer (P.E.) license preferred - EIT with ability to obtain PE license within 12 months required.
  • Experience working in Grading and Drainage and Utility Pipeline fields. Relevant experience shall include site vertical grading design, drainage/sewer/water report preparation and specification writing.
  • Construction-related engineering services experience with the ability to review Shop Drawings, Specification, RFIs, issuing Engineers Directives etc.
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Proficiency with Civil 3D, DDMSW (Rational Method and HEC-1 Models), CulvertMaster, FlowMaster software.
  • StormCAD, SewerCAD, SWMM, WaterCAD, and GIS experience a plus.
