Job description

The Employer Service Division (ESD) is a branch of Workforce Solutions that provides high-quality workforce services to businesses throughout the Gulf Coast region. The division supports the Workforce Solutions mission by striving to: 

• Position Workforce Solutions as the preferred workforce development partner for employers 

• Deliver responsive, customized services that align with employers’ operational and hiring needs 

• Attract new employers and talent to the Workforce Solutions system 

• Develop and maintain employer relationships within emerging industries and markets 

The Business Service Representative works closely with management to identify and prioritize employer service and information needs. The position monitors performance and follows established quality-control procedures to identify opportunities for operational improvement. The Business Service Representative is responsible for reviewing and processing employers’ job orders in the WorkInTexas system and providing essential support to Business Consultants. This position requires strong attention to detail, accurate data-entry skills, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple assignments while meeting established deadlines and performance expectations.

• Market and promote human resource and workforce solutions to area employers, including employers within the Workforce Board’s targeted growth industries. 

• Collaborate with the Business Consultants and follow through to ensure Workforce Solutions delivers the services offered and meets employers’ expectations. 

• Collaborate with employers and Workforce Solutions partners to support job fair marketing and recruitment efforts. 

• Support state and regional special projects involving Texas employers. 

• Review and process employer job orders in WorkInTexas (WIT). 

• Assist employers with WIT account creation, account access, and password resets. 

• Respond to employer voicemail messages and inquiries within established timeframes. 

• Compile and report daily performance and productivity data to management. 

• Perform other duties as assigned to support departmental operations.
