Job description

Mechanical Engineer IV

As a Mechanical Engineer IV you will lead and perform engineering tasks working independently that are varied and very complex which require troubleshooting and interpretation of data, development of new test methods or procedures and are used for a variety of situations. Develops, plans, and executes detailed design development as part of major projects of large scope.

You will do this by
  1. Conducts and/or specifies very complex tests, using advanced techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems; prepares technical reports and provides recommendations based on results
  2. Applies advanced computer-aided engineering analysis techniques to resolve customer concerns/problems
  3. Adheres to new product development processes as it relates to concept analysis, business case, product development, pre-production and post launch steps; recommends methods of manufacture during the design of new products and design modifications or process changes based on cost/design studies
  4. Modifies analysis techniques when necessary to solve more complex problems
  5. Evaluates product failures using advanced engineering techniques
  6. Compiles and analyzes test results;  formulates conclusions and recommends direction to the business
  7. Partners with project management or business units, manufacturing, quality and supply chain etc.
  8. Recommends improvements and/or modifications for sequence of operations, equipment utilization and related matters
  9. Performs full range of managerial responsibilities which may include but not be limited to: interviewing, hiring, coaching and developing employees; planning, assigning and directing work; EEO/AA; performance management; department budget
  10. Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Expert knowledge in own area of engineering concepts, practices and procedures and other internal engineering standards and systems
  • Strong knowledge of engineering systems
  • Comprehensive knowledge of company and competitor's products and technical abilities of suppliers
  • Excellent understanding of company processes and procedures including, but not limited to new product development process
  • Excellent interpersonal skills  
  • Strong written communication skills necessary for technical report writing
  • Ability to lead a team
  • Fluent in English and primary language used in area of responsibility and/or location
  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Seven years of professional engineering experience
