Job description

Job Description Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) within Turnaround Ranch is charged with the responsibility of being the primary point of contact in ensuring that the health needs of the patients are consistently addressed. The RN collaborates with physicians and the multidisciplinary team members to ensure that the physical and psychological needs are considered and given the necessary attention. The RN ensures that the provision of administering medications is completed accurately. The RN is responsible for the development of the nursing care plan for all patients in the residential environment. The RN will be trained in trauma-informed care and will work to help provide services in an environment that is sensitive and responsive which will prevent victimization, abuse, or trauma as a result of the care received. The RN may be asked to triage work injuries which occur during normal business hours and will complete employee physicals. The RN will supervise the duties and responsibilities of the LPN. The RN is supervised by the Medical Director for Turnaround Ranch and is administratively supervised by the Clinical Director of Turnaround Ranch.

Education:

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing and have an ASN degree.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.

  • This individual must have skills in providing recreational activities to youth with severe emotional and behavioral dysregulation.

  • This individual must be able to organize and follow through with a recreational schedule that meets the physical needs of the youth.

  • This person must possess ability to motivate youth and to teach basic health skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the supervision and direction of the LPN ensuring positive communication and collaboration with team members.
  • Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other treatment team members to obtain all necessary information and documents information accurately and promptly.
  • Responsible for monitoring medication administration records, checking for errors and communicating with the necessary party when needed.
  • Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teach them to the patients so they understand their medical condition and medications prescribed.
  • Provide for the medical needs of the clients and utilizing the resources available to make sure that all the medical needs of the clients are addressed.
  • Maintains a safe, clean and professional working environment and complies with all procedures, rules and regulations and maintains adequate supplies of medical inventory needed.
  • Train and monitor medication administration responsibilities of all Level I Med Aide.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements:

  • Conditions provide a normal office environment.
  • Typical demands include frequent movement between physical environments.
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Requires normal range of hearing, manual dexterity needed to operate office equipment.
  • Requires ability to manage stress and work effectively with troubled youth.
  • TB test upon hire
